03/24/2010 – ThetaOptions IRA Portfolio – Intel JAN/APR Spread Closed – $249 Profit

The IRA has decided to close down our original JAN/APR Diagonal that we placed for 0.21 debit back on 12/18/2009.  It’s been a fairly rough trade & we’ve badly timed several key moves; however we manage to make a few bucks on this complex (4) month spread. 12/16/2009 – ThetaOptions Margin Portfolio – Intel July Position Initiated

We’ve been waiting for Intel to cross 19.50 these past few weeks in-order to open a new position on them.  This morning we’ve decided to take a fairly safe bet with them & give them 7 months to cross our line. However we’re not buying the stock today; we’re using an option spread to go long on them at 1/5 the cost. In addition, we’re stepping into this trade slowly  with commitment to add more contracts later on. Read the rest of this entry »
